How we review

No secret formula, just a checklist we stick to and a few things we refuse to do.

1. Shortlist

We start from games that fit the genre: fields, animals, production and selling or trading the harvest, playable in a browser. Zoo games, ranch games without crops and puzzle games with a farm theme are left out, even when they're good.

2. Check the source

For every game we open the publisher's official site and its official game page, and, where it matters, its terms or premium information page. We confirm that the game is live, whether it runs in a browser or needs an app or client, how it's paid for, and what the publisher says it includes. A game that is closed or unreachable doesn't make the line. The most recent check for every game on the site was made in October 2026.

3. Keep a source log

Each fact we rely on is written down with the address it came from and the date we checked it. If a publisher's page doesn't say something, we don't say it either. Where a detail can't be confirmed from the outside, such as how progress carries between an app and a browser account, we tell you that we couldn't confirm it.

4. Write it up

Every review follows the same outline: what the game is, how a session goes, the time it asks for, how the money side works, who it suits and who should look elsewhere, then what works and what drags. Descriptions of features come from the publisher. Judgements about rhythm and fit are ours, and we word them as opinions.

How we talk about time

We don't publish hours per week, because they depend on the player more than the game. Instead we describe the rhythm: short check-ins, planning sessions, how events and groups stretch play. The time column on our front page is an editorial read, not a measurement.

How we talk about money

All the games we cover are free to start, with optional in-game purchases. We report what each publisher's own pages say about those purchases: what they buy, whether they're one-off or recurring, and whether they're required. We don't quote prices, because they vary by region and change over time.

What we won't do

Corrections

Games change. If something here is out of date, write to [email protected] and we'll check it against the publisher's site and correct it.
